Shared bottom fishing and private group charters

The “Hokua II” is a 47′ Newton Monohull out of Maalaea Harbor that offers a wide range of services. Her most common trips involve shared, 4-hour bottom fishing charters in the mornings, and afternoons. Private charters are also offered for 4, 5 and 6 hours  or more. As with other South Maui bottom fishing boats, Hokua will troll for larger game to/from their bottom fishing spots.

Hokua is an excellent choice for private charters. She is one of the few fishing boats licensed for groups of more than 6 guests. On their private charters, guests can sportfish, bottomfish, do a bit of seasonal whale watching, and even snorkel on private charters of 5 hours or more. It’s important to note that there are only a handful of fishing boats licensed and insured to put passengers in the water!

This is a safe and stable vessel for school-aged children and is appropriate for ages 4 and up. Younger children can be accommodated as “riders”, though the boat limits the total number of very young children to 2. If younger children will be joining you, we respectfully request that you allow for at least one adult per child.

Hokua accommodates up to 19 anglers at one time, plus additional riders. She is licensed for up to 36 passengers.

Prices include all taxes, harbor fees and fuel surcharges, as well as a $1.00 per person DLNR / OSU Fee. Gratuity not included.
A minimum of 6 anglers is required before the boat will confirm a shared charter.

Private charter rates

Can accommodate groups of up to 24 guests. Bottom fishing, sport fishing, snorkeling, sightseeing, seasonal whale watching… you name it. The crew is happy to oblige! Hokua is fully equipped for customized private charters of up to 8 hours. Catering can be arranged.  For a combination of fishing and snorkeling, a minimum of 5 hours is required.
